A total of 14 candidates from Student Alliance for the Advancement of Democratic Rights in UP (STAND UP) and Nagkakaisang Iskolar para sa Pamantasan at Sambayanan (KAISA UP) are vying for College of Fine Arts (CFA) Student Council (SC) posts, according to the official list of candidates released by the College Student Electoral Board (CSEB), March 22.
STAND UP fields unopposed candidates for the top three positions in the council: incumbent Studio Arts Representative Laura Jermina Abejo for chairperson, Jeunesse Genesis P. Aramburo for vice-chairperson, and incumbent councillor Michael D.A. Yam for CFA Representative to the USC.
Meanwhile, KAISA UP’s Erin Leah V. Allanique and Jeremiah M. Velmonte stand unrivaled for the Treasurer’s and PRO’s positions, respectively.
Last year, the college tallied a voter turnout of 45 percent or 295/660. A total of 623 students are expected to vote from the college this year. ■
