Two parties will go head to head in the upcoming UP Asian Institute of Tourism student council elections, as the Student Alliance for the Advancement of Democratic Rights in UP – Asian Institute of Tourism (STAND UP-AIT) and Student Action for Responsive Leadership in Tourism (START) fielded a total of 21 candidates for the electoral positions.
Incumbent councilors Jomar Ochoa and Megan Rolloda will be running for chair and vice chair, respectively, under the banner of STAND UP-AIT. Jayson Jude Ramirez is the party’s bet to represent AIT to the University Student Council.
Meanwhile, Ellaine Joyce Carbonell leads START as its bet for council chair. Jennifer Rucio runs for vice chair, and Millie Yvonne Manaois hopes to clinch the position of representative to the university-wide council.
STAND UP-AIT has five councilors, and two year level representatives from the fourth and second year levels of AIT.
