For the sixth straight year, Matatag, Aktibo Tunay, Tumutugon, Epektibo, Responsable (MATTER) is the sole political party running in the local College of Science Student Council (CSSC) polls.

MATTER is fielding a total of 13 unopposed candidates for the 14-member CSSC, after one hopeful for local councilor was disapproved by the CS Student Electoral Board due to his failure to meet good academic requirement under the Article IIIc of the College of Science Election Code, indicating that a student “must be of good academic standing in the College.”

BS Applied Physics third year student Joshua Jethro Jedidiah Malimata and incumbent Assistant Institute of Mathematics Representative Micaela Ticman are the candidates for chairperson and vice chairperson, respectively.

Meanwhile, three candidates are competing to represent CS in the University Student Council: Alyansa ng mga Mag-aaral para sa Panlipunang Katwiran at Kaunlaran’s (ALYANSA) Mika Cadiz , Student Alliance for the Advancement of Democratic Rights in UP’s (STAND UP) Adrian Villareal and independent bet Juan Antonio Magalang hope to clinch the position.
